About:
Star Kebab Tandoori has recently opened its doors for business and is picking up business at a steady pace. This restaurant serves North Indian cuisine and has a decent number of items on the menu, besides North Indian they also serve sandwiches during the day and after midnight as it is open till 02:00 AM.
It’s conveniently located at the Woqod fuel station in Al Hilal that has many more eateries and a few other shops. There are a few parking spots available but can be difficult to find a parking during busy hours. They operate from 11:30 AM till 02:00 AM.
Ambience:
Its a small place that also has a mezzanine floor, the total seating capacity would be approximately under 20 customers and that can give one a cramped up feel. The place is clean and well kept (as its fairly new) and I hope it remains that way. The seating is a bit uncomfortable as they have stools without backrest but they do have sofas on the mezzanine floor.
The staff could be better groomed but it seems they lack the awareness.
Food:
We wanted a quick stop for dinner as it was late at night and decided to try this place out and ordered for a #TomatoSoup #DalMakhani #ChickenTikkaMasala #ButterRoti. My daughter was looking forward to relish the hot tomato soup on a cold rainy day but was a bit disappointed as the soup did not meet up to her expectations and I agreed with her as it was too watery rather than being a bit thick and creamy, normally a tomato soup is served with croutons but that was also missing. The dal makhani was nice, had the right balance of spices with a slight hint of sweetness and was creamy and topped with butter, the chicken tikka masala was nice as well, the boneless chicken pieces had the distinctive charred taste that you don’t normally get else where so over all it was good. We also ordered for #ChocolateChapati which is Nutella spread on hot Indian bread and strangely it was served with fries which I found a bit weird, it also came with a cup of tea which was good.
Service:
Service was slow, it took almost 20 to 25 minutes for our dinner to be served in spite of not being too busy. The staff were courteous and seemed to be conscious of good customer service.
